Jacoby's Shield

About Jacoby's Shield

Jacoby’s Shield is passionate about helping families heal who face the unthinkable, to continue living after the loss of a child.

Our History

We are passionate about helping families heal who face the unthinkable.

Jacoby’s Shield was born from a tragic event. Co-founders Stuart and Xaviera Latta lost their firstborn son Jacoby in 2014 from injuries he received while playing on a playground. Although losing Jacoby is a tragic event, the Latta’s do not want Jacoby’s life to be remembered as a tragedy. This is why Jacoby’s Shield was created.

Jacoby Latta

Three One Two

We were blessed to have Jacoby for three years, one month and two days. Jacoby is considered a fallen Avenger by Marvel Comics. He is the youngest Avenger ever! He is the reason we stand behind the Shield. Get behind the Shield, Jacoby’s Shield.

Helping Grieving Families

We believe that families that grieve together should heal and grow together.

The mission of Jacoby’s Shield is to aid those grappling with the loss of a loved one, in particular parents, grandparents and siblings, find connection and healing. We envision a world where no one has to face the overwhelming journey of grief alone. We expect to achieve this vision by helping entire family units move through their grief together as one.

Whether stillborn or 50, every year, countless parents experience the death of a child. We believe that families that grieve together should heal and grow stronger together. Our unique programs give parents and siblings the chance to cry, laugh, grow, and heal, together.
