Board Member

Angel has dedicated her life to helping her community through service. She has an educational background in social science from the University of Washington with special emphasis in family systems and the impacts societal barriers and crisis’ can have on the family unit. She also specialized while there in professional technical and grant writing.

In addition to now serving on the board for Jacoby’s Shield, Angel's service history also includes two years serving as president of Partners in Education (P.I.E) which was located in Portland Oregon metro area of Washington State. P.I.E.’s mission aimed at being a liaison between community, home, and school. She also has served for nearly a decade, as an auction chairperson for several other organizations that all aimed to come alongside the vulnerable in our community to provide support, advocacy, and tangible relief. Among them were Embrace Compassion, The Oregon Branch of the International Dyslexia Association (ORBIDA), and the Camas Washougal Business Alliance (CWBA). Angel is the proud co-owner of a local private tutoring center, Read Strong Tutoring Center. Its focus is to remediate children who are struggling with reading and math fluency.

She is happily married to her best friend, Paul, and is the proud momma to six precious, not so little anymore people: McLeod, MaryBeth, Madilynn, Maureen, Mallory, and Maeryn. When not volunteering Angel loves being involved in her local church, writing, singing, working on ancestry related things, and sight-seeing obscure historical places.
